Postal Ballot for CNI Forests Iwi Collective Settlement

When Ngati Whare iwi gave a mandate to Te Runanga o Ngati Whare Iwi Trust in 2003 to negotiate with the Crown, it was made on the condition:

That Te Runanga o Ngāti Whare Iwi Trust will not have the authority to conclude a settlement with the Crown until it has presented the proposed settlement to Ngāti Whare iwi members and has received the ratification of that settlement by Ngāti Whare iwi members through properly notified hui and postal ballot.

Te Runanga o Ngati Whare Iwi Trust is presently seeking endorsement from the iwi for the CNI Iwi Forests Collective Settlement. If this endorsement is received, what is currently an "Agreement in Principle" can become a final deal in a "Deed of Settlement".
